At about 9:40 PM on May 20, 2011, what a glorious awakening it must have been for Elaine's soul and spirit to enter I into the Gates of Pearl and be greeted lovingly by her son, Mike, I and all those who had gone on before, with the trumpets blaring II and the angels singing "Glory to God in the Highest." We can only imagine what perfect love and peace she was surrounded by as Jesus took her in His graceful arms and said, 'Welcome home, My child." All eternity with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is hers. Heaven is hers at last!!!
John 3:16 tells us, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." Praise the Lord!!! There is no darkness in heaven. The Bible tells us that the loving glorified light of Jesus illuminates it all!!!
Elaine loved people, old and young. She had a calm quietness about her, but you knew she respected and cared for those around her. She was small but mighty. I am told she was called "itsy-bit" in Parker. She could be tough when she needed to be. Elaine had a compassionate heart. She met some guy when she was working in the Branding Iron Restaurant in Parker Arizona, spilled coffee on him, and felt so bad about it that she married him, and was so dedicated she stayed with him 39
years. Now that is penance. She blended right in with his family them accepted them in spite of all their faults.
Elaine always worked side by side with her husband. They did everything together. Where you saw one, you saw the other. With all they had to do they were never too busy to help family. Elaine was a good listener and many times in the property management business, she helped people with their problems of many kinds. When things didn't seem to go right, she was a great comfort to her husband. Elaine defused many situations, by a kind word or even just agreeing.
Travel was a great joy to her. Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, the cruises, Colorado to visit her daughter Lori, and her grand daughter April, and taking out their 28' Fibreform boat into the Puget Sound area. She loved knitting, but her passion, as her home exemplifies, is planting many gorgeous flowers and watering them and watching them grow. Inside and out of her home was the delight of a color barrage.
Her smiles and her giggles when she was happy were infectious. Everyone loved her because she was a special gift to us all. She had so much energy, and was always busy doing whatever needed to be done.
We have been richly blessed to have Elaine amongst us for all these years, and we know that we will see her in heaven some day. As a tribute to her we must live our lives in loving and trusting in our Lord and Master and Saviour and Friend Jesus Christ eternally.
Let us pray. Our gracious Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessing of having had Elaine's love and friendship. We thank You that she is safe in Your Haven of Rest. We ask that You bless each and everyone here today with your infinite mercies and protect us from diseases that may befall us. We would ask that Your angels be with us and Your Holy Spirit always guide us lovingly. In Jesus precious Name, Amen
A Celebration of Life for Elaine Hopkins will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.
