When Elmer was in WWII, he served in the Army infantry.
Elmer married Mae Campbell in 1951 who later passed away in 1986, and then married Dean Campbell in 1996 who passed away in 2008.
Elmer is survived by his daughter, Teena Golh Hilderbrand; grandchildren Michael Cox, John Cox III, David Cox and Melanie Cox; great grandchildren Alexander Cox, Emily Cox and Paige Cox; sister Bertha Berglund; close and dear friend Beverly Dellinger, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Ella Green, Ida Orndorff, and Emma Campbell.
A Graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
