

Elmer G. Noll passed away on October 10, 2023, early in the morning in Tigard, Oregon. Elmer was born on November 5, 1935 in Shelton, Washington, to Oscar and Ruby Noll, the 8th of 9 children. He graduated from Cleveland high school in Seattle, Washington. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served for 3 years, attaining rank of Sergeant E-4 and was a firearms instructor. He was then assigned to the USMC Reserves until October of 1961. He met and married Janet Jackson in Shelton, Washington. The Ceremony was at Mountain View Alliance Church on November 24, 1960. They were married for 58 years and had two children. Elmer's first job was at Simpsons Lumber Mill in Shelton. After a layoff the family moved to Maple Valley on 2 acres that he bought from his father. He built a nice two-story house there before moving to Yakima to stay. Elmer's experience at Boeing Auburn Plant helped him start a career at Decoto Brothers Machine Shop, which he held through the late 90's. After retirement he got bored and started Elmer's Clipper Service and later ECS Machining until closing in August of 2014. Elmer was survived by his son David (Laurie) of Yakima, daughter Anita (Bill) of Tigard, Oregon, his grandsons Jon of Yakima and Matt (Ally) of Austin, Texas, 1 great-granddaughter Florence, and his sister Lynda Miles of Eatonville. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Noll, parents Oscar and Ruby Noll, and his siblings Bob, Bill, Jim, Sis, Ramona, Marybelle and Darlene.
