Faik Ibrahim was born in Iraq April 4, 1936. He left his home and family to move to the Netherlands, where he met the love of his life. He married Wilhelmina (Willy) in August of 1957. Faik and Willy had 3 children, Lowy, Susan (Sue), and Rafiq (Ruff), before immigrating to the United States in 1969.
Faik began his journey in the US as a mechanic and eventually opened his own auto repair shop in Yakima. Faik’s dream was Trout Meadows, a fish farm and RV park. He loved having families and school groups come out to fish and learn about the farm. Many people in the Yakima Valley learned to fish in the ponds at Trout Meadows. Along the way, he and Willy had a restaurant, Babylon, featuring the food he grew up eating in Iraq.
Faik passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on September 11, 2025. Faik is survived by his wife Willy, daughter Sue and son Ruff, along with four grandchildren - Killy, Tyler, Blake, & Bryce - and one great-grandchild - Zane. A celebration of his life is being planned by his family.
