

Gay Loraine Prinke was born in Yakima, Washington on July 15, 1943 to Gust and Iva Ione Prinke. Gay was one of six children. Gay attended school in Selah, Washington and graduated from Selah High School in 1961. After graduation, Gay went to Beauty School and obtained her beautician license in 1962. She worked as a beautician for 5 years.
Gay married Willie D. Owens on September 7, 1963. She was the mother of three children which became the focus of her life. She especially loved the holidays and being able to spend time with her family. She took great care of her home and loved decorating it especially with pansies.
Gay was a faithful Christian and taught her children to love the Lord. She lived her life as an example to others. She attended church at Eastside Church of Christ.
Gay’s hobbies consisted of being a grandmother and finding that bargain as the early bird at yard sales. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye for everyone she met.
She is survived by her loving husband, Willie D. Owens; her siblings, Janna Geer, Eda Rickert, Carla Rutter, and Jessie Prinke; her children, Scott (Betsy) Owens, of Selah, Melissa (Jimmy) Head, of Yakima, and Russell Owens of Moxee; her grandchildren, Nathan Weber, Amanda Chouinard, Jamison Owens, Jenna Head, and Savannah Feise (Owens) and one great grandchild, Faith Weber; and numerous nieces and nephews all of Yakima.
Gay is preceded in death by her parents, Gust and Ione Prinke; her sister, Nola Rickert and her granddaughter, Kaytlynn Foresyth.

Graveside services will be held at West Hills Memorial Park on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A potluck will be held following the services at the family home on Pacific Avenue in Yakima. To share a memory of Gay visit www.lepfuneralhome.com.
