

Jerry was born December 24, 1941 in San Diego, California, the son of Genevieve Marie Johnson and Lionel Huston Russell.
After graduating Jerry joined the US Air Force in 1961, and served 23 years until retiring as an E7 Master Sergeant, served in Vietnam, and was awarded Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal throughout his military career. Upon retiring Jerry spent nearly 20 years as a Correctional Officer for the Arizona State Prison.
Jerry married Roberta La Rue Emery on September 7, 1963 and had three boys, Rich, Dan, and Steve. They were married 53 years until Bobbie passed away on October 27, 2016.
Remaining to cherish Jerry’s memory are sons Rich, Dan, and Steve, daughter-in-laws Lorraine and Robyn, Sister Nancy Kupper, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Jerry in death are wife Bobbie La Rue Russell (Emery), brother Dickie Russell, sister Suzie Inman, sister Kathy Loper, daughter-in-law Martha Russell, and grandson Daniel Russell Jr.
Memorial services will be held on Friday June 27th at 10AM at the Keith & Keith funeral home in Yakima, WA. Burial of Jerry and Bobbie will follow at 12PM at the Wapato Cemetery.
