Ina “MaeDene” Melton passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side. MaeDene was born on November 5, 1941, to Floyd and Zola (Richardson) Neel. MaeDene became Jim Melton’s bride on February 17, 1962. They immediately moved to Moxee, WA where she worked on a hop farm until they moved to Selah, WA in 1969, where they raised their two daughters. MaeDene retired from the Selah Convalescent Nursing Home after 26 years of dedicated service. As much as she loved sewing, camping, cooking, and going to church, she loved her family more! Nothing made her happier than having all her family together to enjoy a southern meal that she had prepared. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Melton, Reatha (David) Foster, her grandchildren Austin Lea, Shalynn (Cody) Belton, Taylor (Leticia) Lea, Shannen (Colten Pitner) Foster, and her great grandchildren Brycen Lea, Casen Pitner, Bristol and Dalton Belton. She is preceded in death by her husband, her son (Michael), her parents, and her brother. She was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please give donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
