Isabell was married for over 30 years to the love of her life, Vincent Raymond Carrillo, Sr. They had seven children and made Moxee their home. Isabell was an active member of Holy Rosary Church, served as a Eucharistic minister and a Catechism teacher for young children for many years.
Mom had a great sense of humor and a love of life. She was devoted to her family and especially loved her grandchildren. Mom would help anyone in need.
She was the oldest of five children growing up in the era of the Great Depression. Her family moved to Washington State in the mid 1940’s. Our brother Vince wrote an article in the Hispanic news in 1992 about our family, and it was titled “Remembrance.” Mom was a very hard worker and was raised in an atmosphere of tradition, Hispanic culture and family virtue that come from those who have labored together in the fields. Our families worked very hard, but celebrations were often rich in music, special homemade foods, and lots of laughter.
Isabell’s smiling face was well known at Safeway, where she retired after 27 years, a proud member of UFCW Local 1439 and Retail Clerks.
Mom is smiling now in Heaven joined by her loved ones who have gone on before her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Valadez, her brother Daniel Valadez, her husband Vincent Raymond Carrillo, and her two sons, Vincent Carrillo and Gilbert Carrillo.
She is survived by her children, daughters Mary McEntire, Shirley Alvarez, sons John Carrillo, Joe Carrillo and Raymond Carrillo, her grandchildren Danielle, Marie, Bobby, Sergio, Derek, Michael, Carlos, Leon, Rachel, Vincent, Elizabeth, Tyler, Victoria, and Katie, and numerous great grandchildren.
Many thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Emerald Care in Wapato.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 9th at 11:00 AM, at Holy Rosary Church in Moxee, 201 N. Iler St. Family and friends are invited for good food and memories at a reception at the parish hall following the memorial services.
