

He was born in Seattle, Washington. He was later married to Kathy Trujillo. Jim worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a switchman and conductor from 1966 until 2005 when he retired. Jim wasn’t a conformist, but looked for his truth outside the box. He would always say “you don’t know what you think you know”. He was very loyal and loved family and friends; loved to eat out and banter with the waitresses.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda S. Wright of Tennessee, Maria A. Baumgardner of Kelso, WA and Elizabeth M. Baumgardner of Longview, WA; a son, James Baumgardner of Longview, WA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Reid of Yakima and Alice Griffin Oak Harbor, WA and Joan Guys.
