Born on July 17, 1957 to Dr. William and Alice (Hoffman) Maher, Jim was the youngest of their four children. He is survived by his mother and sisters Mary (George) Rhoades, Elizabeth Maher and Jane (Thomas) Goodhue and his daughter, Pollyanna. Jim is also survived by his nieces Kristin Bauer, Lauren Beattie and nephews John and Peter Rhoades and Paul Goodhue.
Jim graduated from Oregon Episcopal High School and the University of Puget Sound. In his younger years, he managed the family cattle ranch and fruit orchards located in the lower valley. He branched out to start Maher Insurance Services. Jim was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball, gardening and gold prospecting in his free time.
Most of all, he loved people and was very generous with his time and energy to help people. Everyone who knows Jim pictures him driving his old friend, Buster, the red truck. Taken long before his time, he will be missed by family and friends.
