Jim Melton

Jim Melton peacefully passed away on March 14, 2024. Jim was born on Jan. 24, 1941 in Melbourne Arkansas to Marvin and Mazell (Morehead) Melton. Jim married MaeDene Neel on Feb. 17, 1962. Although he still complained that his Uncle Troy charged him to perform the wedding ceremony , he said it was the best $5.00 he ever spent. They immediately moved to Moxee, WA where they both worked on the Hop Farm until they moved to Selah in 1969, where they raised their 2 daughters. Jim retired from Tree Top Inc. in June 2001 after 39 yrs. Jim was an avid sportsman and loved riding motorcycles, horses, hunting and fishing. As much as he loved the outdoors and adventure, he loved his family more. Nothing made him happier than having his family and friends together to share a meal.

He is survived by his wife MaeDene, his daughters Patricia Melton, Reatha (David) Foster; his grandchildren, Austin Lea, Shalynn (Cody) Belton, Taylor (Leticia) Lea, and Shannen (Colten Pitner) Foster; his great-grandchildren, Brycen Lea, Casen Pitner, Bristol Belton and Baby Boy Belton (soon to arrive); his sister Marie (Bob) Morris, his brother Lowell (Peggy) Melton and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his son Michael Melton, his parents and his two brothers. He will deeply missed by all who loved him.
