Joan Marie Englehart died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the age of 75. She was most familiarly known as “Marie” to family and friends.
She was born in Marysville, CA to John and Martha Neely on October 30, 1944. She was the youngest of five children. Marie and Gary Englehart were married on September 13, 1980, in Yakima, WA at Holy Family Parish.
Marie worked at Cascade Licensing and served a brief period of time as a legal assistant for Attorney Adam Moore, but spent most of her adult life in the medical profession, including Dr. Stilanovic’s office and Memorial Hospital.
In January of 2016 Marie retired from Memorial Hospital and was celebrated for her 22 years as a Radiology Transcriptionist whose typing speed often exceeded 145 words per minute. Because Marie and Gary had no children, Marie always worked holidays and week ends so that her colleagues with children, would have time with their families.
Marie and Gary were avid pool players and she played in many women’s league tournaments, and in 2004, won first place in the “Women’s Summer Pool League” at The Little Dutch Inn.
Marie was an avid reader, loved gardening, especially roses, her favorite flower. She had an innate, artistic talent for decorations, and any gift received from Marie was a beautiful work of art. She had a quick wit, great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She will be deeply missed.
Marie is survived by her husband Gary Englehart, her brother Jack Fowler and wife, Janelle, and nephew Jeffrey Martin and wife, Toni.
A Memorial Service for Marie will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Avenue, March 22, 2019, at 1:00 pm.
