

José Luis was born December 2, 1958 to José and Margarita (Barboza) Reyes in Churintzio, Michoacán, Mexico. He always enjoyed a good adventure. At the age of 16, José’s father brought him to the United States, specifically Kingsburg, CA to harvest peaches, plums and apricots. José Luis moved to Fresno, CA to work in an Italian Restaurant where he learned to cook and bake pizzas, pastas, lasagna, and bread. He enjoyed showing off his cooking and baking skills for friends and family. José Luis then moved to Los Angeles and eventually traveled north to Yakima, WA where he resided and began his own company (Bin Assembly by Joe Reyes) more than 20 years ago.
Survivors include his wife Judith; son Erik, daughter Leslie; three sons Rico, Luis, and José of Wapato, and eldest daughter Esmeralda of Wapato; five brothers and two sisters Ricardo (Tammy), Arturo (Rosario), Antonio (Susana), Bertha (Jaime), Ma., Elena (Valente), Felipe (Luz M.), Jesus (Maria C.); three grandchildren Alexis, Darius, and José Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren who loved him.
Rosary/Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 12th at St Joseph Catholic Church, Yakima, WA.
