Kathy Mae Painter 51, born in Yakima on November 11, 1959 to Ronald and Darlene Painter of Yakima. Kathy returned to be with our lord on May 30, 2011. She is survived by her parents Ronald and Darlene (Surgeon) Painter; son, Alexander DeBord of Yakima; daughter, Jessica (Ben) (DeBord) Cameron; and grandson, Landon Cameron of Yakima; sister Connie (Joe) Piccininni of Arizona; brother, Steve (Jayne) Painter of Yakima; nephew, Josh (Danielle) Painter of Yakima; niece and nephew, Natasha (Painter) Leo and Kaiden Lua of Yakima; and nephew, Josh Johnson of Yakima.
Kathy was a very successful business woman and was the owner of Signatures Salon of Yakima as well as the Yakima Enhancement Center. After selling her businesses, Kathy then moved to Seattle and opened another Esthetics practice. After working in Seattle for several years, Kathy returned home to Yakima to be closer to her family. Kathy loved spending time with her grandson where she would play “rodeo bloopers” for him when he was an infant that would make him laugh hysterically. Instead of being called Grandma, she preferred to be called Meama. Kathy’s son Alex, her daughter Jessica, and her grandson Landon were the light of her life and the center of her heart.
Kathy searched for the truth and she found it in the Truth, Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord deeply and would study the word of God for hours a day.
Kathy was a one of a kind woman who loved everyone and would always put other people before herself. She was a wonderful daughter; we loved her more than words can say. She was a shining star in our lives. I admired my sister’s tenacity, her quest for knowledge and her sense of humor. She worked towards spiritual growth as well as growth in her chosen field. She is at peace now in the arms of God, the comfort of our grandmother and all of our family members in heaven. Our mom remains the rock in our lives. She gave her all to make sure that we were safe and well taken care of. Kathy prayed that her perseverance through trials and tribulations would be a pathway for those she loved to find their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful Mother, Daughter, Grandmother (Meama), Sister, Aunt, Niece and Cousin. She touched so many people’s lives and will be deeply missed.
Please come and celebrate the life of Kathy Painter at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 6,, 2011 at the West Valley Missionary Church, 11107 Wide Hollow Rd., Yakima, WA 98908. Lead by Pastor Jim Merillat
