Larry was best known for always catching his limit of fish and (or) packing a deer downhill on his back, true story.
Larry was born October 18, 1945. He was raised in Toppenish, WA and lived there for many years. Larry worked for Morris Hitchock at the White Swan Lumber Mill for 25 years. Because Larry married into a Restaurant operating family, he dabbled himself. The first time was in 1982 and had a good run at it in Toppenish, WA. Later he went to Renton, WA and opened a business there, also a good run there for a good period of time.
City life took a toll on his love of Eastern Washington, so Larry and wife Donna moved back to the valley. He got to hunt and fish again and was very happy doing it. He then went to work for Boise Cascade for 20 years until it closed in 2006.
Retirement started to look Really good to him then along came the next chapter…Grandkids!
Larry always loved to play cards, pool and darts…and he was extremely good at it. The life Larry led was a good life. He got to play a lot.
Larry had several nick names: The Neanderthal Man, Mountain Man, Steve Garvy arms and Lucky Larry.
He never met an opponent he couldn’t not knock out with one punch. It was said “Oh those Steve Garvy Arms”.
Larry is survived by his wife Donna of 56 years, son George Weiss, (Geo) daughter Kim (Linwood;) 2 granddaughter’s Hannah and Olyvia; grandsons Reggie (Karina); Isaih, Joshua, and 3 great grandchildren Jayden, little Reggie and baby Marcel; cousin Gary Weiss; 3 special sisters in laws, Linda, Lorrane and Teresa; and Robin Weiss former daughter in law.
He is preceded in death by his best friend and brother-in-law Corporal George I Padilla, mother-in-law Mary Layman, and father-in-law Adolph Gutierrez. He is also leaving behind his little friend, puppy Madeline. Oh, how he loved her. She still sits at the window waiting for him.
There was only one Larry Weiss. He was well received, and he had a lot of friends.
Larry’s wish was that there would not be a funeral service.
See you someday Papa, Dad, Friend, Honey and Good Ole Boy.
