He was a graduate of Gonzaga University and later became a successful business owner in the Yakima area. Les enjoyed boating but his passion was hunting for geese and ducks.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son Christopher E. Simonds of Yakima, grandson Christopher T. Simonds of Yakima and a sister, Kathleen Simonds of Maryland.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel with burial following in Calvary Cemetery.
