

Merry (Gibbins) Nordberg was born May 23rd,1952 in Toppenish, Washington. Merry passed away October 2nd, 2025 at Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital due to complications from heart failure and chronic obstructed pulmonary disease.
Merry was raised and went to school in Toppenish. Upon graduating from Toppenish High School, she married Harvey Wolney and had two sons, Harvey Wolney Jr. and Heath Wolney.
While her husband enlisted in the Army, they resided in North Carolina, California and for a time, stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. After the army, Merry and family moved to Carson City, Nevada. Merry started working for a thermal-molding plastic company called Richdel. The company developed a pop up sprinkler that was successful which larger conglomerates such as Rainbird bought into. Thus, starting Merry’s long career in Irrigation. Merry got divorced in the 1980’s. Merry raised her sons by herself, bought a home and worked very hard to support her family. Many years later, Merry became friends with Raymond Nordberg, and they were married. At this time, Merry moved to Yakima, Washington with Raymond. From there, she worked for irrigation companies in the Yakima Valley before retiring from HD Fowler. Raymond died in 2004. Merry was a widow the remainder of her life.
Merry enjoyed simple things. Sweet Tea, Apple Fritters, Almond Chicken from Chinese restaurants…. Trashy Harlequin novels. She raised and lived with her grand-daughter Sabrina Wolney.
Merry Nordberg is preceded in death by her parents Ken and Marie Gibbins, her sisters Kim Bailey and Pat Gipson. Merry is survived by her sons Harvey Wolney Jr. and wife Stephanie, Heath Wolney and wife Rachel, her grandchildren Samarah, Carson, Harvey III, Sabrina and Skyler Wolney. Sisters Pam Jones and Noelle James.
