Mildred (Millie) H. Barrickman passed away at her home on November 20, 2019. Millie was the youngest of four children born in Chicago to Arthur and Helen Pieper on November 27, 1932. She moved to Yakima in 1948 to assist her sister Catherine after the birth of Kay’s second child, Jill. While in Yakima she met Robert Barrickman and they were married on March 8, 1950. After working and living for a time in the Tri-Cities they moved to Seattle where Bob worked for and retired from Boeing. During their stay in Seattle, Millie worked for a local drug store and cared for their home in Renton. Upon retiring from Boeing, Bob and Millie moved back to Yakima in 1991 and spent their remaining healthy years traveling with Millie’s sister Kay and her husband Leo Pfaff. Millie’s enthusiastic comedic recollections of their trips and tribulations were always a crowd pleaser at both family and public get togethers. She was a member of “Rosalma” for many years and also a member of an informal “Ladies Lunch Group,” which was originally organized by her sister Kay and her good friend Lola Amos.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents Art and Helen Pieper, husband Robert Barrickman, brother Art Pieper, niece Joy (Owens) Crowe, sister Kay and her husband Leo Pfaff. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Millie was interred with her husband Robert and next to Kay and Leo Pfaff at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.

Services are under the direction of Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Millie and Bob were our neighbors in Yakima until we moved across town in 2004. They were both so sweet to us and our young kids (at the time). Wonderful folks. Our condolences to their family.
