Richard Michael Morris

7 December , 19371 October , 2019

In 1953, the family moved to Yakima, where Mike graduated from Yakima High School in 1955. After high school, he enlisted into the Navy in 1956 on board the ship Lenawee and traveled the world.

He married Sheryl Repp in 1959; together they had four children whom he loved dearly, Pam, Ray, Russ and Randy. They enjoyed family vacations to the beach, Montana, and California.

Mike worked with his dad at a family business, F &M Transfer; later Mike took over the company and ran it together with his son Randy until 2010.

He loved flying, and got his pilot license; he also loved playing his tuba in the Yakima Elks Band.

After retiring, he loved going to the casinos, traveling and seeing most of the country. He worked for a short time at the Yakima Herald, then volunteered at the McAllister’s Flight Museum.

Mike loved his grandchildren Chantal, Leah, Michaun and Anna, and his great-grandchildren Christian, Haiden, Jax and Liam.

Mike had a great life until his health no longer permitted it. He loved to sit and watch the birds outside his window every day, and he loved that ramp, Anthony!

Special thanks to his son Randy who took care of his dad, along with Randy’s wife Annette, daughters Chantal and Leah. Dad was so thankful to be in his home for that time with all of them.

The family would like to thank Cheri and the Hospice team, for helping during his stay at home, and also to the wonderful staff at Cottage in the Meadow. We cannot thank you enough for the comfort and compassion you gave Dad and our family during this time.

He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, sisters Margie and Nancy, and his good friends Dave Fuller, Don C, Don R, Roger, Donna and John Brown.

We love you Dad, and we will miss your famous spaghetti, a true family favorite.

Forever in our hearts, until we see you again.

A memorial page is set up through Keith and Keith Funeral Home at www.keithandkeith.com.

At our Dad’s request, there will be no funeral service, but we will have a celebration of life at a later time for family and friends.

I met Mike in the mid 70s playing in the community band and also worked with his sister Nancy. Mike and I enjoyed getting to know each other and he got me interested in flying and we took lessons together and had some fun flights to different places for dinner or just practicing with the airplane. He was a great friend and we enjoyed our times together. I will never forget how he was so good with my son and helped me in so many ways. I will so miss my sweet friend and keep him in my heart forever. Devone

Grandpa I miss you everyday. It was a blessing the time we got to share with you and the boys. I will always remember you for the loving grandpa, and great grandpa you were. I will cherish the last few days I was able to help care for you and have long talks with you. I love you so much and I know you are living it up in heaven right now and watching over us all. Love Chantal

Mike knew my Dad long before I was born and, as a younger cousin, I always enjoyed hearing those stories. He always treated me like I was important and I will miss being able to call him. I'm glad I got to talk to him one last time and tell him that he mattered to me. Randy, the job that you took on is more than a person should have to bear but you should be proud and you have my utmost respect.

Pam & Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of your dad, no words can take the pain away from this loss, your parents are the ones that always kept their eyes open and ears listening to guide and protect you as a child and were always there to help you in life's ups and downs, losing them is not easy however, your dad will always be in your heart, hang on to those memories and keep them close, your dad will still be watching over you even when you can't see him.

God bless you Pam and your family, my prayers are with you all during the coming days and forever.
