Rita Agnes Bowman (Cozza) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 26, 2024, at the age of 93. She was born in 1931 to Dan and Fanny Cozza of Tacoma, the youngest of six. She attended St Leo's High School, graduating in 1950. She attended nursing school at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma, receiving her RN license in 1953.
In 1954, she married Dr. Howard Randolph Bowman, and they moved from Seattle to Naches together. They raised their four children in Naches. Rita and Howard worked together at the Naches Clinic until they retired in 1999.
Rita is preceded in death by her husband, and by her siblings Marion, Frank, James, Albert, and Leo. She is survived by her children, Howard, Barbara, Mark, and Anne, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Rita loved her life in Naches. She enjoyed hiking, gardening, and photographing & identifying wildflowers. She was also a devoted Mariners fan. She was on the Naches Cemetery Committee, and participated in local women's clubs. A devoted Catholic, she was an active member at St. John's Parish in Naches. She was well-loved by all who knew her.
