

Roberta Marshall, 80, passed away with her family by her side on September 21, 2017 in Huntsville, Alabama. Roberta was born on January 16, 1937 to William and Edna Collins in Adair County, Oklahoma. She moved to Yakima in the early 1950s where she met and married Clarence Marshall. They built a good life together in the construction business, including medical buildings, hotels, and motels. Together, they owned and managed the El Bandera Motel for several years. They also enjoyed raising and racing thoroughbred horses for many years.
Upon her husband’s death (Clarence) in 2005, Roberta moved to Huntsville, Alabama to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She resided there until her death. She loved her family with her whole heart and enjoyed many vacations, graduations, and sport events with them. Memories of her many candid sayings, immeasurable patience, loving smile, and faithful friendship will be cherished by all she knew and met.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela in 1967, her husband Clarence in 2005, three brothers (Chuck, Bo, and Ben Collins), and one sister (Sandra). She is survived by her daughter Sherri Marshall McPheeters (Scott) of Huntsville, Alabama; three grandchildren: Meghan McPheeters Black (Jonathan) of Durham, North Carolina, Kendall McPheeters of Birmingham, Alabama, and Sam McPheeters of Auburn, AL; sister Billie Martinkus of Tucson, Arizona; great-granddaughter Audrey Collins Black of Durham, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Avenue, Yakima, Washington. Burial will follow at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
