Sam was my neighbor growing up and he was always very kind to me and my family.  He and my dad had cattle in common and Sam helped teach my dad the ropes as someone who was newer to the endeavor.   I remember Sam telling stories of his son and grandkids and all of their accomplishments.  He was really proud of all of them.  My mom used to run into Sam having coffee at Walmart once in a while and it was always great to catch up as my parents had moved down Postma a ways by then.  Sam made the effort to come to both of my parent's funerals and it meant a lot to me.  I am sorry I am not able to make his service on Saturday due to some family obligations, but I will keep Sam and your family in my thoughts.  Corey "Hess" Bugni

Sam was a good friend, he will be missed.  I worked with Sam several years, doing everything in the hops, working in the orchards, and other things. He was a “top hand”.
