Vivian met her husband, Henry Russell, when he was stationed in California serving in the US Navy. They soon married and relocated after his Navy retirement back to Yakima, Washington, with son Cristofer, daughter Pamela, and young son Kevin to be closer to family. They moved to Selah, Washington, where Vivian pursued her passion for education by getting her master’s degree and teaching at Selah School District for 30 years. Henry joined her as a volunteer in her classroom after he retired for a second time from the Yakima School District. Vivian was a wonderful teacher and dedicated her energy to helping her student’s overcome challenges and succeed. She was invested in positively impacting the lives of countless children.
Vivian and Henry enjoyed many trips to casinos after she retired. After Henry passed away, she continued to enjoy life, taking trips to beaches, casinos, and spending time with her friends and family. She loved running into her former students and teachers she had worked with.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, son Cristofer, and her brother Conrad. Vivian is survived by her daughter Pamela (Patrick), son Kevin (Lori), and her granddaughter Sarah. Her nephew Marvin (Jaimee), niece Patricia, and their families, as well as the many other special people of the Quigley family.
