

William J. Linger (Joe), 53, passed away in his home in Moxee June 24, 2010.
Joe was born January 23, 1957 in Yakima. WA, the son of William Ambrose Linger and Faye Helen (Stokes) Linger of Moxee. He attended Carroll High School and graduated from East Valley High School in 1975. Joe was employed at B.T. Loftus Ranch for Mike Smith for 31 years.
Joe enjoyed his life and was a loyal friend to all that knew him. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and papa. He enjoyed going to the races at Yakima Speedway and watching his nephew Mike Longton and dear friend, Terry Cook race their cars. In his younger years, Joe loved to go fishing, hunting and camping with his father. He also enjoyed watching his nephews, Dave and Brad Sharp at the snowmobile hill climbs. Joe always looked forward to attending the Moxee Hop Festival and spending time with his family playing 31.
In 1979 he married Linda Kay Jones and together raised two wonderful children, son Billy Linger, 29 of Moxee and daughter Lynn Linger, 27 of Yakima. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Kylee; four sisters, Pat (Tom) Sharp of Moxee, Wilma (Roger) Desharnais of Kirkland, WA, Janet (Ed) Owens of Salem, AR and Fayane (Bob) Byrd of Mill Creek, WA. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Joe was preceded in death by his father and mother, great nephew, Daniel Baird and Daniel Baird’s step father, Steve Mathers.
Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. “Dad we will miss you and we love you so much.”
Visitation and viewing will be from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Sunday and from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Moxee.
