

Andy lived his early childhood years in Princeton, New Jersey attending Princeton Charter School and spending his summers in Bath, Maine. He developed a love for its outdoors and community spirit. Andy and his family moved to Yarmouth in 2009 where he enjoyed learning music and participating in the finals of Yarmouth’s Got Talent” with his buddies Luke, Noah, Ben with their rendition of “The Ultimate Showdown.” Andy loved pets beginning with his beloved beagle, Gaia, his lazy cat Jake, the kitty, Kitty and most recently his mom’s cats Bruiser and Tortellini. Andy had a special bond with Erin’s family dog, Laney and just about any animal he met.
Andy graduated from Yarmouth High School in 2019, where he excelled both in the classroom and on the field. For two years Andy ran cross-country and was class vice president. A standout lacrosse player helping his team capture the Maine State Championship—a moment that reflected his dedication, teamwork, and quiet determination.
Following high school, Andy began his studies at Auburn University before returning to Maine during the year of Covid. He attended University of Maine at Orono for one year. He took time off of school to focus on his physical and mental health. He returned to school at University of Southern Maine where he was an honors student majoring in business, known for his sharp intellect, motivation, and humble demeanor.
Outside academics, Andy embraced life with a sense of adventure. He loved wakeboarding on Cobbossee Lake, snowboarding on Sugarloaf Mountain, hiking at Maiden’s Cliff, and walking with his mom and Erin on Westport Island. Andy loved the outdoors where
you would watch him jump off of Cousin’s Island bridge, do a solo hike up Mt. Washington. These pursuits reflected his love of challenge and his appreciation for Maine’s natural beauty.
Andy is survived by his devoted parents, Susan Stover of Westport Island and John Garrett of West Gardiner, as well as his brothers, William, 28, and Jack, 30. His grandfather, Robert Y. Garrett, III of Palm City, Florida and his best friend and girlfriend, Erin Clancy of North Yarmouth, Maine. He will be remembered for his bright smile, generous heart, and the countless memories he created with his family and friends. The family invites you to a time of visitation on Friday March 13th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth ME. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday March 14th starting at 10:00am at First Parish Congregational Church 116 Main St, Yarmouth Me followed by a reception in the church hall.
