

Cumberland – Audrey Christine Jacobson, 78, of Cumberland, passed from this life to the next on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at Falmouth by the Sea. She was born on December 3, 1936 in Worchester, MA, a daughter of Georgianna (Remillard) and Henry Valentine Alsop. She attended Grafton, MA schools and graduated from Grafton High School. Her work history included time as a secretary, administrative assistant, various hospitality industry positions and as an elder care giver in her later years.
Audrey married Raymond Jacobson and the family made their home on a farm on Range Road in Cumberland. Audrey’s love of others and spirit of generosity made their home a place where all were welcome and she readily took in many children and young adults. She was known for her cooking. She was at her best in the company of others. She had the gift of living life in the moment and enjoying it.
Audrey had a wide range of interests throughout her life. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing the piano, music in all forms and dancing. She was an avid reader, who loved shopping, ceramics, arts and crafts and truly enjoyed antiquing – she was a partner in the business, “Heirlooms and Blooms”.
She will be remembered for her spirited nature, her love of family, being a friend to others, as well as to her children, her ability as a story teller. Audrey was a strong woman whose strength was revealed in placing other people’s needs before her own, all the while with a style and grace that showed true elegance.
Audrey is survived by her children: Kimberlyanne Cleaves and her husband Rich; Scott Raymond Jacobson and his wife Tove; Pamela Rae Perry and her husband John; Christian Gustaf Jacobson and his wife Amy; Yvonne Angela Castora and her husband Brian; her twelve grandchildren: Savannah Rae, Cassandra Richelle, Jared Matthew, Danielle Christine, Svenn Gustav, Jacobson Isaac, Carter Jacobson, Susannah Georgianne, Adam Douglas, Abigail Christine, Nicholas Stanford, Jordan Caleb; her five great-grandchildren: Chase Alen Paul, Brady Richard, Haile Raeanne, Beckett Andrew, Molly Edith; her sister Marlene Bosma as well as a large extended family. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Raymond Jacobson, in 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 25, 2015 at 1PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 326 Main Street, Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Blanchard Cemetery, 215 Winn Road, Falmouth.
