

Brunswick – Donald James “Ted” McCurdy, 83, died Thursday March 25, 2010 at the Mid Coast Hospital.
Born November 11, 1926 in Eastport he was the son of the late Vernon Ross and Anna Thresea McCurdy.
He served in the United States Army and Coast Guard during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement he was a barber working for the State of Maine at Pineland.
Ted was a member of the American Vets in New Gloucester , worked for the Winthrop Water District and was a Little League Coach when his sons were young. Ted was Past President of AFSCME Council 74. He and his wife were foster parents for over 100 children.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ester Overlock McCurdy. They were married on May 22, 1960.
He is survived by two sons; Shawn and his wife Lois of Westbrook and Stacy and his wife Donna of Sidney, four grandsons; Shawn, Jr., Matthew, Connor and Ian, a step grandchildren; Craig, Janessa and her husband David and Joel, step great grandson, David Curtis, III and special friends, Bonnie and Bill Bergeron.
Visitation will be Monday March 29, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist Funeral Home One Mayberry Lane Yarmouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday March 30, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church 326 Main St. Yarmouth.
Interment with Military Honors will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery North Yarmouth.
