

Portland – James Augustus Cassidy, 60 of Yarmouth, died on August 1, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Portland, ME on June 4, 1951, a son of James W. and Helen (Latini) Cassidy. Jim graduated from Portland High School in 1969, was a US Marine Corps Reservist and was a co-owner of J.W. Cassidy and Sons, an electrical contracting company.
He enjoyed baseball, was a first degree black belt in Shotokan karate and an avid runner. He loved spending time with family and friends, working out, listening to AC/DC and driving his 1971 Boss 351 Mustang.
Jim is survived by his wife Denise Soule Cassidy of Yarmouth, formerly of Spruce Point Cousins Island; his daughter Angela Cassidy of Boston; his brother Gary Cassidy and his wife Deborah of Standish; his sister Donna Hanley of Ithaca, NY; his sister Theresa Burgess of Casco and his mother Helen F. Cassidy of Portland. He was predeceased by his father.
