Joan Kendall Deming passed peacefully Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was a native of Portland, Maine, born November 11, 1931, and graduated from Portland High School in 1952. While she had many years in California, her love for Chebeague Island Maine brought her back to Portland, where she was able to spend her final 10 years being lovingly cared for at The Island Commons. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Kendall Holmbom, her 4 children: Lynda Hill Oderda, Danna Hill Alvey, Stephen William Hill, Richard Kendall Deming, nieces: Lisa Leslie and Sara Holmbom Lund, her 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
