Gentle father, dedicated husband, and dutiful Air Force veteran, Anselmo A. Rivera passed away on January 29th, 2022 at the age of 78 following a series of complications stemming from brain hematomas and hemorrhage.
On his final day, he was surrounded with loved ones in hospice, and left the world peacefully in his sleep in the hours afterward.
Generous of spirit, Anselmo lived a life of service. Following his work in the telecommunications field from the Air Force to Rockefeller Center, he found deep fulfillment in his later years distributing meals to fellow veterans at James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Anselmo; good books, movies, television and conversations.
Anselmo is survived by his wife, Evangelina; daughter, Annalisa; sister, Carmen; and brothers, Orlando, Samuel, and Jose.
A private service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home in Yonkers, NY. As an expression of sympathy, flowers are welcome; contributions may be sent to Annalisa Rivera.
