The career of Aurora Richter was unusual because she was both a doctor and a nurse. A Foreign Medical School Graduate, she practiced psychiatry with residencies both at UMDNJ Cooper Hospital, Camden, and St. Luke's Roosevelt in Manhattan. An exchange nurse from the Philippines, she met Robert Richter at the Univ. of Pennsylvania Campus International House, and they later married in Chicago when she was later transferred there to a hospital in 1965. Although she never had any children, she has affectionately been called Mother by many nurses she taught or supervised during many years of experience. Robert and Aurora have been married almost 53 years. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Thursday June 21st at 11am. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Crematory.
