Barbara Lorio

passed away after a brief illness on August 13, 2015.

Born in Brunswick, Maine and raised in Yonkers, Barbara graduated from Gorton H.S. in 1962. She attended Business School immediately after, and worked in NYC for several years.

Barbara was a compassionate, caring woman and was loved by many. She was genuinely interested in all people she spoke to and knew. She loved her family dearly, as well as her kitties, granddog and grandkitties. She was actively involved in Just Strays, Forgotten Felines and enjoyed working the polls during primaries and elections. Barbara is survived by her two children Thomas and Jennifer Lorio, her mother Marilyn Ardovino, sisters Valerie (Buddy) Rubeo, Karen Ardovino, Janice Golia, brother Michael Ardovino, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Michael Ardovino Sr.

Visitation will be held at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Ave.Yonkers, N.Y. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9. Mass Tues. at Christ the King Church 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made to Forgotten Feline’s in Barbara’s name. P.O Box 430 Valhalla, NY 10595
