Born and raised in Yonkers, Benjamin was a proud graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School. He went on to attend Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, where he further developed his love for the culinary arts - one of his greatest passions.
Ben was a proud member of IBEW Local 3 for over 13 years. He greatly valued the work he did and the brotherhood he shared. He had a big, magnetic personality that could light up any room. He loved to cook and found joy in bringing people together around the table, especially for weekly Sunday dinners with his mother and his beloved grandmother, Peggy O'Neill. Those meals were more than just food - they were moments of laughter, storytelling, and love.
His happiest times were spent at family gatherings, where he was often the heart of the celebration - being silly, making everyone laugh, and creating unforgettable memories. He loved animals and cared for both people and pets alike. Benjamin had a rare gift for lifting spirits and making others feel special simply by being himself.
He is survived by his loving mother, Ann Marie DeMartino (Della Calce); his father, Benny A. DeMartino, both of Yonkers, New York; his grandmother, Peggy O'Neill; and his sister, Jennifer M. Callister (DeMartino) and her husband Brion. He also leaves behind his aunts, uncles, many cousins, his union brothers and sisters, and dear friends who will cherish his memory forever.
Gone far too soon, Ben will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send donations to: NCADD/Westchester in his name.
A visitation will take place at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on February 25, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
