Catherine was born on March 22, 1932, the only child to Henry Hofmann and Josephine Luviso. Catherine was raised in New York City and graduated from Cathedral High School. On August 14, 1948 she married Charles E. Hogan, and together they raised a loved and adored son, Charles “Chuck.”
The best way to describe Catherine and Charles is “two peas in a pod.” They did everything as a pair and were rarely seen when they were not kissing or “squeezing” each other. The Hogans moved to Yonkers in 1961, and Catherine worked as an office manager for Langer & Stein Orthodontics. Catherine took great pride in being a hard working and independent woman.
Catherine and Charles retired in 1981 to Somerset Village in Orlando, FL. They spent the next 45 years working, traveling, and looking forward to much anticipated visits from their son, daughter-in-law, Robin, and three grandchildren.
Catherine is known for her sense of humor, flirty personality, love of jewelry and all things glamorous, and her strong character. She took great pride in her home and had a knack for making her surroundings, especially her garden, beautiful and welcoming. She lived for the last 10 years in Yonkers, spending her days with family and friends. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino, coffee and lunch at the diner and family vacations.
Catherine’s legacy is carried on by her daughter-in-law, Robin, grandchildren Kimberly (Mickey), Tiffany (Michael) and Jolene (Christopher). Best known as “GG,” she leaves behind her most precious gifts, her 8 great-grandchildren Kayla, Eve, Daniel and Emilia Millo, Ella Catherine and Joseph Zetts, and Michael and Sienna Olijarczyk. She is also survived by her niece, Jane Kanning, with whom she lovingly connected with in her later years. Catherine is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Charles and her son, Chuck.
