David Dunne

David Francis Dunne of Yonkers died on Saturday December 10, 2011 at age 85. He was born on June 17, 1926 to Francis and Catherine (McCarthy) Dunne in Riverdale, NY where he attended St. Margaret’s Parish School; Cardinal hayes HS and received his B.B.A. from St. John’s University. Mr. Dunne was an Accountant with the Contractor’s Registrar in Elmsford. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a WWII Air Force Veteran; he also played semi-pro baseball and was an avid golfer. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Catherine; his brother James Dunne and his sister Catherine Rowland. Mr. Dunne is survived by his wife Bernadette (Tighe) Dunne; his son Dennis Dunne; his daughter Deirdre Dunne and 5 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm ONLY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday December 14th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Yonkers Police Athletic League, North Broadway, Yonkers, NY in David’s memory.
