He was a Navy medic veteran (stateside) during the Korean conflict. He later graduated NYU receiving his PHD in teaching where he then went on to teach students of various age groups. He loved history most of all. He had published many articles in various newspapers and magazines as well as 1 book. He was a devoted husband and loving father who never gave up on anyone, students and family alike. On July 12, 1999 he lost the love of his life and wife to an 18 month battle with lung cancer. Unfortunately he had found out only in April of this year, he had stage 4 advanced colon cancer. He tried to fight it the best he could and on Thursday May 31st 2018 at 7am at the age of 87 he lost his fight. He was loved by all whom ever met and spent time with him. To say otherwise was to say you didn't know him. He leaves behind his son James and his 5 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Funeral and final disposition is private.
