

Doris Fennell Kopera, a beloved and devoted resident of Tuckahoe, New York, passed away at the age of 99 on June 23, 2025, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. Born on December 25, 1925, in Yonkers, she was the daughter of Frank and Hannah Fitzgerald Drohan. Doris was a graduate of Gorton High School and lived in Yonkers for many years before relocating to Tuckahoe.
Doris was married to Harold Fennell on November 10, 1947, at St. Joseph's Church in Yonkers. Harold predeceased her on October 30, 1984. She later married Alfred Kopera on June 3, 1988, at St. Casimir's Church in Yonkers, who also predeceased her. Doris is survived by her five sons: Frank Fennell and his wife Christine of Dumont, NJ; Harold Fennell and his wife Elizabeth of Mohegan Lake, NY; Daniel Fennell and his wife Michele of Pawling, NY; Christopher Fennell and his wife Lisa of Beth El, CT; and Matthew Fennell and his wife Christine of New Fairfield, CT. She is also survived by her four stepchildren, Karen, Tom, Paul, and Mark, as well as 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Doris was a gentle and thoughtful individual who enjoyed traveling. She was an active member of the Amackassin Club in Yonkers and a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony's Church in Yonkers.
Visiting hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on June 25, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, located at 10 Squire Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on June 26, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Final disposition will be private.
