
Mr. Foley worked as a welder for Operating Union # 15 in N.Y.C. until his retirement in 1994. He also was a driver of the Tanker Trucks for Gulf Oil.
Ed was a proud Marine; serving during the Korean War for 3 years being Honorary Discharge ASA Sgt.and was a former member of Vet. Post 1666. (His father was also a Marine in WW 1.)
Mr. Foley was a parishioner of the Christ the King Church; he was an avid sailor where he sailed out of City Island on his “Down the Hatch” boat. He also enjoyed cruising on the Mary V.
Ed was a huge Giants and Yankees fan and loved singing the tunes of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett with his best friend and Brother- in – law Bill Wyatt, who he also did deep sea fishing with. He was always there to lend a hand with a twinkle in his eye.
He is survived by his 2 nieces Mary Ann Wyatt- Dolan and Ellen Peace and his 2 Nephews Kevin and Joseph Wyatt and other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Joseph and John Foley; Florence Wyatt and Marie Foley.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball F.H. for Sunday from 4 – 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Christ the King Church on Monday Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
