

Eileen Clare Walsh of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on September 22, 1931, to Joseph and Mary (née Lesko) Walsh in Yonkers, NY, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Sacred Heart High School.
After graduation, Eileen worked for the New York Telephone Company before pursuing a career in nursing. It was during this time that she discovered a deep calling to serve in the United States Navy. A Vietnam Veteran, she served in various assignments around the world with dedication and distinction. Proudly serving for more than 20 years, she rose to the rank of Commander before her honorable discharge. After retiring, she returned to Yonkers, where she spent many fulfilling years caring for her family; always offering her support and devotion. Her life was a testament to service, strength, faith, and kindness that touched everyone she encountered.
Eileen was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth, Thomas, and James Walsh, and her sisters, Regina Walsh, Patricia Pflaumer, and Elizabeth Hagan. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as their children, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY. The interment will follow privately at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers, New York.
