Evelyn V. Walsh

Evelyn Veronica Walsh, 96, passed away peacefully with family on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1925 in Yonkers, N.Y. where she met the love of her life, late husband John Joseph Walsh and they raised their four children; Jaqueline Walsh, the late Patricia Walsh, Joan Phillips and Jack Walsh.

When Evelyn was not busy being a devoted wife and loving mother, she would spend time working at Elizabeth Seaton College and was a long-time parishioner of the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers.

Evelyn was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren; Patricia, Karen, William, Lori, John, Christine, Elizabeth, Kevin and Michael, as well as her seven great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Brooke, Jake, Damon, Evelynn, Benjimin and Madelynn.

Her memory will live on and be cherished by each of her surviving children, their spouses, William Phillips and Denise Walsh, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A private viewing for family will take place prior to the service.
