John F. Farrington “Jack” born in Yonkers to William and Mary Cody Farrington. He graduated from Holy Rosary; Gorton High School and Manhattan College. John was a World War II Army Veteran, 2 years (ETO) European Theater Operations, 3 years total Army Infantry. He was employed at Otis Elevator Co. (UTC) for 32 years as Manager Industrial Engineering. John was predeceased by his wife of 59 years Peggy (Walsh) Farrington in 2012. He is survived by his sisters Mary Louise Gunther, Ada Reardon and Geri Ruffalo; sisters in law Helen T. Frey, 26 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 11am in Sacred Heart Church. Final interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
