John Fitzgerald, Age 78, Lifelong Yonkers, NY resident passed away April 18, 2017. Son of Emily (nee Nyahay) and Joseph Fitzgerald. He served honorably in the U. S. Navy. Following his military service John joined the NY State Troopers where he served from 1963 to until his retirement in 1994 as a NY State Police Investigator. He is pre-deceased by his eldest brother Joseph F. Fitzgerald.
He is survived by brothers James P and Thomas R. Fitzgerald, and nine loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to an animal welfare organization of your choice. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be on Friday at 10am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
