John Marcello of Yonkers died on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at age 90. Born on August 26, 1922 to Dominick and Anna Marcello in Italy. He came to the U.S.A at age 18. Mr. Marcello was a construction worker for Local # 426 in Westchester for many years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a POW in Germany for over two years. John was predeceased by his wife Grace (Lewis) Marcello who died in 2009. He is survived by his two daughters Angie Meehan of Yonkers and Anna Moran of Peekskill and ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, also his brother Angelo and two sisters; Jenny Negro and Marie Letizia. He was predeceased by his two sons; Dominick and John Marcello. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, Sept. 22nd at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
