Leonard N. Serafin of Yonkers died on Monday February 23, 2015 at age 90. He was born on July 18, 1924 in Yonkers where he was raised and attended local schools. Mr. Serafin was a part-owner with Serafin Oil Company for over 40 years; retiring in 1984. Leonard was a member St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church; a member of the Catholic Slovak Club and a WWII Navy Veteran and he joined the veterans post #1666 in Yonkers. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Izbansky) Serafin who died in 2006. He is survived by several nieces and nephews; Peter, Susan, Diane, Andrew, Michael, Walter, Mary (Kim), Barbara and Joan. He was predeceased by all his siblings; Michael, Walter, Peter, Theodore, Andrew, Mary Ribinsky and Olga McNulty. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Friday February 27th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
