Malik was born on January 31, 1957 in Al-Salt, Jordan to the late Yousef and Bana Hattar. He was raised in Jordan and migrated to the United States in November of 1975. Malik was a hardworking man who built his career in the restaurant industry becoming the proud owner of the Ardsley Kosher in Ardsley, NY during the 1990’s-early 2000’s. Malik was loved by so many including his two dogs. Malik’s passion was to help others and feed his community. He was well respected by everyone who knew him. To know him was to love him, as so many did. Malik married the love of his life in April of 1983, the beautiful Samar Hattar which whom he built a home with and became a devoted father to Jennifer, Nancy, Kelly, and Christopher. Malik was also a proud grandfather to Tommy. Malik was a long-time parishioner and supporter of St. Mary’s Good Shepherd Church in Yonkers. Malik is survived by his beloved wife Samar, his children, and grandson. He is also survived by his two brothers, Mazin Hattar and Maher Hattar, son-in-law Joshua and adopted daughter Tatiana. He is predeceased by his sister Muna Hattar and Majid Hattar. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held for Malik on Thursday, October 22nd, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Good Shepherd Church in Yonkers, N.Y. The interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers. Donations in his memory in lieu of flowers may be sent to St. Mary’s Good Shepherd Church, 103 South Broadway, Yonkers, N.Y. 10701.
