
A successful businessman and entrepreneur in Yonkers died on Sunday, May 19, at age 78. Born on December 9, 1935 to Musa and Hajeh in Ajloun, Jordan.
In 1962, Suleiman married his life long partner of 52 years, Evlien. He was one of the founding parishioners of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church. Suleiman was a very involved citizen with his beloved city of Yonkers and supported many charitable events. He also was an influential leader to the Arab American community. He is survived by seven children, Rammy, Ammir, Diana, Sanah, Roulla, Arlene and Lena. He is also survived by one brother, Najib and four sisters, Naimeh, Nefal, Fadiah (Victoria), and Huda. His legacy lives through his 17 grand children, Jeffrey, Joseph, Johnathan, Gabriella, Sarah Ann, Michael, Joey, Marco, Amanda, Suleiman jr. (Johnny), Layla Grace, Michael, Marcus Elias, Matthew, Jamil James, Avanna Shea, and Edward Jr. Visiting hours will be at the Virgin Mary Church on Wednesday, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass is scheduled For Friday , May 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church followed by the burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
