

Tom was born in Yonkers NY on April 19, 1958. He graduated from St. Margaret’s Grade School in Riverdale and Lincoln High School in Yonkers. After graduation from high school Tom was a client of The Arc Westchester in Yonkers.
Since 1990, Tom has been a longtime resident and enthusiastic participant in workshops and activities of IAHD, the Institutes of Adult Human Dynamics based in Tarrytown NY. Tom has lived in residences sponsored by IAHD most recently in Croton and previously in Bedford Hills, Tarrytown, Yonkers. Tom was a grocery bagger at what was then an A& P in Mt. Kisco from 1993-1996 until a car accident prevented him from future work there.
Tom loved to be around people and especially loved speaking with older senior citizens. He took great interest in anyone approaching or turning 100 years old, whether among his network of family and friends or celebrities.Tom especially loved coffee, old movies from 1940’s and 1950’s, and when he was younger, attending wrestling matches and Neil Diamond and Elton John concerts.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Francis J. Corbett and Mary McLain Corbett, both of Yonkers. He is survived by his siblings: Frank (Denise), Eileen (Ralph) and Kathy (Ray), 5 nieces and nephews (Dan (Monica), Julia (Brian), Owen (Caroline), Matt, Allison) and was very proud to be a grand-uncle of 5 grand nieces and grand nephews (Henry, Bryn, Maeve,Cooper, Lorraine).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17 from 9am to 10:30 am at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers NY with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11am at the Monastery Church of Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place Yonkers. Internment will immediately follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 2 Saw Mill River Rd (entrance is through Oakland Cemetery).
