Frank Lee Gould entered peacefully into God’s hands on July 3, 2019 at 6:28 pm. Born in Harleysville, SC on August 18, 1926, Frank was the son of James and Neither Gould. He served in the Army and was a veteran of WWII. On November 6, 1946 he married the love of his life, Mary Gould. In the early 1950’s they moved their family to York PA.
He was a hard worker, who had a job loading bricks on the back of a truck when he first moved to York until he was hired at TR Taylor. Frank was popularly known for his self-owned upholstering business. He took a correspondence course on reupholstering furniture, but for the most part he was self-taught. Frank started with a small shop on George st, until he built a two story garage in the rear of his home, where his business flourished for many years until he retired. Known by many as Deacon Gould, he served at Shiloh Baptist church for many years.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 73 years Mary Lee Gould, Sister Gladys Gould, sons Lorenzo Gould wife Joan (York); Gregory Gould wife Holley (Harrisburg); Jerome Gould wife Sue (Harrisburg); daughters Geraldine Johnson, husband Charles (York); Judith Gould (York) and nieces Julia Turner and Earline Rorie and nephew Harry Williams, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two daughters Mary Gay Gould and Sandra Gould Thomas; son Gerald Gould, brother Mack Gould, Sister Annie Gelzer and granddaughter Patience Gould.
