Hi, This is Mick Gilbert, an umpire in the mens leagues and a Legion player back in the late 70s, who had the pleasure of seeing Phil since then at the baseball fields in York County, supporting his son Jeff. He was always smiling and friendly to everyone. Yes, Jeff's Dallastown beat our York legion squad and won the State Legion title, as they did for the years to come in the Susquehanna League. You could always count on Phil and all the other fathers to be at every game for York Township. win or lose Phil always had a kind word for me in the parking lot. I and the league will miss his kindness and conversations in the stands. Thanks for the memories Phil.

As a friend to Phil's daughter, Cindy~ I extend warm and sincere sympathy to Vicky and all in family.  It's been quite some time since I've had the pleasure to see Phil or Vicky, but I have fond memories of sharing time with them. Phil was every bit the same fixture to Spry and York Twp. baseball as any of the many players who, like me, count their blessings to have known such a gentlemen. His humor was great - that was always a treat to me (you had to pay attention to get it, that was for sure). We'll miss ya Phil.

My condolences on your loss. I bowled with Phil for many years and he was always a very pleasant gentleman.

Phil was a caring and dedicated family man.  My husband and I had the pleasure of spending time with Phil and Vicky and their family at many sporting events where they both enjoyed watching their grandchildren, Kenny and Lexi, play. Phil was a genuine and friendly person. Our sympathies extend to his wife and family. He will be missed by many.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of such a Wonderful man. I truly admired and respected, Phil, and loved working w/him @ YB&T 960 S George. He truly was an asset and always caring and kind to everyone. I would always love seeing both of you @ Apple Hill on occassion. We always had a laugh to share along with the joy of seeing one another. I will personally cherish my years of working with, Phil, for all of his wisdom and friendship.

I am so very sad to hear this sad news. The Bowman family is in our thoughts and prayers. Phil Bowman, was a wonderful man. I admired him. I respected him. I thought of him as both a mentor and a friend. I have such incredible and wonderful memories of him and of Vicky. And I am so thankful for everything they did for me and for York Township baseball. Without BOTH of them, there would have been no York Township. Phil was one of the influential and driving forces in laying the foundation for our organization and for building our team. He guided us through many years of playing, fundraising, growing up, and building the eventual championship tradition that lives on today. That is his legacy for me. A legacy that lives on. A responsibility we take very seriously and carry on and hold dear. The Bowmans have my deepest condolences. I celebrate his life and all that he did good for so many. Influencing so many lives. Phil Bowman made a difference. He made a difference in my life. He made a difference in my teammates lives. And in the lives of many, many more of players that he never met. We all thank him. We are all better for having known him and for having him in our lives. We all cherish his efforts, dedication, and sacrifices to give us a dream we all shared. And we all thank him.
