

Carolyn Jean Knight passed away peacefully in Peoria, AZ on June 14th, 2018 after a four year battle with colorectal Cancer. Carolyn was born to Helen Frances Josephine Shepherd (Ley) and Eugene Jack Shepherd in Denver, CO on December 3rd, 1937. She had been a resident of Peoria, AZ for the last six years.
Carolyn started dating Jack L. Knight in Junior High School and after a six year courtship they were married on December 7th, 1958. They enjoyed a 54 year long and loving marriage until Jack passed away on February 8th, 2013.
Carolyn devoted her life to her family and was a homemaker for most of her life caring for her husband Jack and raising their two sons, Greg and Ralph. Carolyn was employed as an administrative assistant (Westminster School District #50), secretary and dental receptionist during her life but her real passions were her family and church. Carolyn was an accomplished musician and played the marimba. She and her sister Evelyn even played Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado when they were younger. Growing up Carolyn was a member of Job’s daughters. Carolyn was an elder at Sun City Christian Church and Westminster Christian Church and devoted countless hours to both.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Ralph Lamont Knight (Nancy), grandchildren Tyler (Anya Rogers), Kodi, Daniel (Lindsay Winkler) and Sarah (Billy Banks) ; great grandsons Cooper and Remi Banks; sister Evelyn Koester (Rich), sister-in-law Bobbie Kinder, nieces Wendy Lippman (Toby) and Theresa Parisi (Kevin); nephews Bret Koester (Anita) and Tom Kinder (Erin). She was predeceased by her husband Jack Lamont Knight, her son Gregory Jack Knight and her parents Eugene and Helen Shepherd.
